If you have a hot tub or spa, and you are currently using Chlorine, Bromine, or some other harsh chemical disinfectant, consider switching over to a natural treatment system.
Imagine soaking in a hot tub that smells like… nothing! No chlorine smell left on your skin, no drying out affect, just clean, silky, clear water. Well, imagine no more.
– By the way, this is not an advertisement, just my own experience.
A have a rather small hot tube that had been disinfected by using bromine, ozone bubbles, and some sort of silver bead cartridge. I never liked the smell of the ozone, or the dry skin and stinky smell of bromine or chlorine from the hot tub. When my ozonator stopped working, and I found out how much it was going to cost to get it fixed ($$), I decided it was time to look for alternatives to the high price and affects of chemical treatment.
After searching and reading and searching and reading… and finally talking with my local Spa dealer, I discovered a product called “Le Naturel Spa”, made by Carefree Spa, Inc. I cannot speak to the many other natural options, but this one seemed to be the most cost affective and easiest to use (after initial set up).
– By the way, if your local spa dealer doesn’t sell a natural alternative, chances are they will tell you to stick with chemicals (that’s what they are selling). If they tell you natural alternatives don’t exist or don’t work, politely thank them and walk away!
I began with the starter kit which came with a natural citrus cleaning agent to get rid of all the mineral buildup in the pipes and a bottle of Le Naturel Spa, which is not a very big bottle. After following the instructions to the word, I ended up with a crystal clean tub that has been chemical free for 9 months so far. Not a drop of chlorine or pH adjuster, or anything but Le Naturel Spa. It’s super easy to use and the water has never looked so clear or felt so clean.
I buy my product from a local natural home product store, but you can also find it online. Let us know what YOU have tried to rid yourself of chlorine and other chemicals in your spa!
Here’s to more healthy relaxing soaks from now on!
