Recently I passed a storefront downtown that had a window display like I’d never seen.
There was no written message, but it inspired me to write this post. The large window, completely filled with used clothing made me realize how many clothes get throw away every year. Donating your clothes, or selling the really nice pieces to a used clothing store puts your no longer wanted items into the hands of another person who will sport them for another season or help someone who may not otherwise be able afford something brand new.
So, what to do today?
- Seek out your local donation station(s)
- Local homeless shelters are often in need of clothing, especially in during the winter months. Consider buying some new socks or hats to donate.
- If you like to sew, recycle your old clothes to make reusable grocery bags!
- Old undies and socks and towels are handy as dust rags or car washing clothes.
